Speakers: Aaron Preston & Patrick Figueroa
Water management is imperative to providing safe water in the healthcare setting. A key monitoring parameter for water management is the temperature of the water. The temperature of the water can inhibit, kill, or promote bacterial growth in the water pipeline. This parameter, although seemingly simple in nature, can be difficult to control depending on the complexity, age, and design of the water system. This presentation will focus on how team modified temperature collection based on end user feedback to ensure accurate, timely monitoring. Team will also show how 3 scenarios involving Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Cupriavidus pauculus, and Legionella pneumophila caused the team to investigate, mediate, and monitor to ensure a safe water system.
