This session will be a review of how a healthcare system in New Jersey implemented a central surveillance model across 10 acute care hospitals to more consistently apply surveillance definitions and allow site infection preventionists (IP) more time to address the needs of their hospitals such as rounding in high-risk locations and outbreak response and mitigation. Strategies included open, frequent bidirectional communication between the site and field IP teams through virtual platforms such as Google CHAT and GMAIL as well as participation in site and network-wide meetings.
