In 2018, Infection Prevention and Value Analysis formalized a process to integrate infection prevention leaders into different product value analysis subcommittees. The value was instantly realized and the venture began. No one could have predicted the benefit of having this established relationship during a pandemic. This presentation will chronicle the journey over the last four years and identify key initiatives and processes of a successful Infection Prevention and Value Analysis collaboration that unexpectedly created an opportunity to deliver value to the patients and the hospital. -Discuss the importance of establishing an Infection Prevention/Value Analysis collaboration to drive product decision making. -Describe how Infection Prevention/Value Analysis collaboration contributed to a successful response to a global healthcare crisis. -Describe how Value Analysis programs have evolved to utilize infection prevention to support and enhance the organization’s ability to continue to deliver safe care and quality outcomes.
